Working predominantly with oil paint and found objects, most of which were animal remains, Brewer’s early works were homages to the animals they incorporated. The remains of the animals were often gold and silver-leafed then laid to rest in shrine-like boxes. The works below are representative of the style in which she worked in her earlier years.
