General InformationA variety of pickled pets and accessories are kept in stock, but all taxidermy mounts are custom made per request to the buyer’s specifications. Therefore there are no pre-made taxidermy mounts available for immediate delivery. Each mount is a one-of-a-kind piece of art and will vary slightly from the items pictured giving your piece a character and personality unique to itself. The price of your selected piece may differ slightly from the price listed depending on availability of materials and/or any special modifications you request. All Custom Creature creations are professionally prepared by a licensed taxidermist using modern taxidermy techniques and safe state-of-the-art chemical products, thus insuring a quality mount that will remain well preserved for decades to come. OrderingAll in-stock items are first come first serve. Orders are not officially placed until a payment is received. Prepayment is required on all in-stock items and all made-to-order pieces under $200. A non-refundable 50% down-payment is required on all made-to-order pieces over $200. Deposits are non-refundable but transferable in the event you decide you would prefer a different piece. Changes can only be made if work has not already begun on your order. ( Please note that changes may effect your delivery date ) The remaining balance is due following the completion of your order. You have 2 weeks to remit the balance owed after being notified that your piece is finished. If your payment is not received within 2 weeks of notification you will lose your deposit and forfeit your piece. Items are shipped immediately following receipt of the balance owed. All in-stock items are shipped upon receipt of payment once payment clears. Delivery schedules
for made-to-order items are determined by the number of orders ahead of yours.
In general larger more complex mounts average 8-12 months. Smaller
less complex mounts average 4-6 months. Some novelty items may deliver in as
little as 6-12 weeks. Rush service may be available under certain circumstances
depending on the current number of pieces presently being worked on in
the shop. Add an additional 15% for this service. Please pay promptly after
receiving your invoice. If other orders are received before your payment arrives
it may push delivery back on made-to-order pieces. Forms of Payment AcceptedMoney orders, PayPal, personal checks, or cash accepted. Purchases made by personal check will be held until funds clear ( generally 10-14 days ). Mail cash at your own risk. Electronic funds transfers from bank checking/savings accounts accepted through PayPal. Credit cards and debit cards accepted through PayPal with an additional 3.5% service charge. All international orders must be paid in U.S. dollars via PayPal, international money order, international bank draft, or cash. There is a 4.5% service fee for all international orders paid via PayPal and a flat rate $5.00 bank fee for all international money orders / bank drafts. Wire transfers are not accepted. Please note that it is your responsibility to check with your local Department
of Natural Resources and fish & wildlife authorities regarding
items you purchase. The Custom Creature Taxidermy Studio will assume
no responsibility if you purchase an item prohibited in your state,
province or country. International buyers please check with your customs
officials before ordering. No refunds will be issued for seized items. No export on wet preserved
specimens.
Endangered,
threatened and protected species ( including, but not
exclusive to, raptors and songbirds ) will only be mounted
for museums and educational institutions providing all necessary permits.
Additionally, in accordance with state and federal law,
anything utilizing waterfowl, crows, or any other
restricted bird will only be mounted for customers providing the bird. NO EXCEPTIONS.
None
of the animals used in Custom Creature creations were killed for the
purpose of using them in these projects. Specimens are road kill, destroyed nuisance animals, livestock, casualties of the pet trade, or died of natural causes. All animal components are recycled. A strict "waste
not, want not" policy is adhered to - virtually every part of
the animal is utilized.
